Happenings at Trinity Church

Blanket Sunday

Sunday, August 22nd, was Blanket Sunday.  We received $835 for the Church World Service Blanket Program. If you missed the collection, you can still submit a check payable to Trinity U.M. Church with “Blanket Sunday” written on the memo line or put your contribution in an envelope designated for Blanket Sunday. In addition to monetary contributions, we received several blankets, which will be donated locally (last year we donated them to Shalom House). Thank you for your generous contributions.

NOTICE!!!

Please donate the following items today!!

Flesh toned pantyhose
Old blue jeans
Old Flannel/button down shirts
Old Baseball Caps/Hats
Old Belts
Old Ties

Donations can be dropped off in the Creation Room (the youth room). Thank you!!

Nursery Sunday School Available

Please note that the Nursery is available during the Sunday School hour for any babies or children under 3 years.  Lessons are done and much love is provided for our youngest blessings here at Trinity.  Check it out if you have a small one who needs nurtured.  It then gives you an opportunity to check out Sunday School options for you or so that you can attend The Crossing praise and worship service.  See Donna Ratulowski in the Nursery if you have any questions.

Addresses Needed

If you know of a Trinity member who will be going off to college this fall, or who is in the military, please call the church office with their mailing address.  We want to stay connected to our members, wherever they may be.

REMINDER

Please remember to turn off lights and air conditioning when you leave the church. Our electric bill this month was almost double what it was this month last year, due in part to the rate increase, but the usage was much higher as well. Help us to be good stewards of what God has given to us. Thank you!

Free to a Good Home

Is anyone in need of an electric typewriter? It is a Smith Corona DX4000. It needs a new ribbon cartridge, but can be test-typed in the church office.  Stop in or call if interested.

Don’t Forget the Toppings!

September Trinity is collecting condiments each month for the Bridge. The Bridge is a food pantry located in New Cumberland. You can put your donations in the box marked ‘Bridge’ in the St. John’s Room. The donation for the month of September is pancake syrup. Thank you for your support. Any questions please call Cindy Ickler

Meanwhile, please SAVE THE DATE… On Saturday, October 2nd, beginning at 8 AM, instructors from Holy Spirit Hospital will hold two CPR classes in our Fellowship Hall.

· The first class - “Heart Saver”- is a 4-hr, one person, basic course for the lay-rescuer. There is a skill test with certification (no written exam) at a cost of $30, which includes instruction on the use of an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator).

· The second class - “Family and Friends” - is a 2-hr instructional course, including reference manual, but offers no certification credentials and requires no testing. The cost for this class is $15.

You must register to receive your CPR booklet 2 weeks prior to class. A SIGN-UP SHEET will be on the table in the hallway near the Health and Wellness Ministry Room. I encourage you to participate in this life-saving event.  ~ Barbara Z., Parish Nurse
